• Provide local and regional artists an opportunity to perform at a venue with diverse audiences
• Showcase the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) American talent in contemporary music
• Encourage programs in music and culture and foster music education and interest to San Diegans
• Revitalize and build a stronger community through the celebration of music and art

The long term vision of  the SDAAMF will evolve the outdoor music festival event into a multi-day, multi-faceted event focused on music and music education.  The ultimate purpose of all the events under the SDAAMF, including the flagship AMP Music Festival, will be to

• Spotlight the underrepresented and often overlooked API talents in an event focusing on (but is not exclusive to) APIs
• Raise funds that will in the first year, create scholarships for youth who have an interest in pursuing education in music and arts; and in future years, create funding for schools whose arts and music programs have been cut, especially in schools with high concentrations of “at risk” youth for gangs, abuse, or violence.
